Alang’s Rawa is a charming 12-room beach resort nestled on the tranquil island of Pulau Rawa in Johor, Malaysia. Surrounded by the pristine waters of the South China Sea, it’s a place to slow down, switch off and enjoy the simple pleasures of island life. Our cosy, well-appointed rooms combine comfort with rustic charm, while our private beach, powdery white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters are made for swimming, snorkelling and lazy days by the sea.

Just a couple of hours’ drive from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur to the port of Mersing, Rawa is only a quick 25-minute boat ride away in one of our private speedboats.

During the week, the island settles into a slower, more peaceful rhythm. Families with children are welcome throughout the week, alongside couples, honeymooners and friends looking for a relaxed escape. Whether you're here for a few quiet days by the sea, a family adventure or a special celebration, we’re happy to accommodate special requests wherever we can. Our restaurant serves generous, satisfying meals in a laid-back island setting, with beachside tables lit by flickering lanterns creating a magical backdrop for dinner.

As the weekend arrives, the atmosphere shifts. Saturdays are known for legendary barbecues, cocktails and lively island parties, bringing a little more energy to the beach. And while the weekend vibe is livelier, families and children are still very much welcome — Rawa is a place for everyone.

Alang’s Rawa is family-operated and privately owned, with a charm that is more intimate and heartfelt than polished or grandiose. With just 12 rooms, everything here feels personal. Many of our guests become cherished friends and return week after week, year after year, making Rawa their home away from home.
