Getting to Rawa Island from Singapore involves travelling to Mersing, followed by a boat transfer to the island.
Singapore to Mersing
Most guests travelling from Singapore make the journey by car or private transfer.
The drive to Mersing takes approximately 3–4 hours, depending on traffic and the time taken to cross the Singapore–Malaysia border.
We recommend allowing additional time during weekends, school holidays and public holidays.
Mersing to Rawa Island
From Mersing, your journey continues by boat. The crossing to Rawa Island takes approximately 20–30 minutes, depending on sea and weather conditions.

Rawa is a tropical destination, so weather conditions can vary throughout the year.
The main island season generally runs through the drier months, when conditions are typically best for enjoying the beach and sea. We are open from March to early Dec. As with all island destinations, boat transfers are dependent on prevailing sea and weather conditions.
How long should you stay at Alang's Rawa?
For a quick escape from Singapore, two nights is a great starting point.
If you have more time, three or four nights allows you to properly settle into island life without feeling rushed.
